NCSC Edvolution team launches Project Siraat

NUST Community Service Club (NCSC) Edvolution team launched project Siraat, which is a career counselling project aimed towards Federal schools and colleges.

SIRAAT” word is coined from Arabic language, which means “Path”. The monumental surge in the career options and ever increasing competition has made career counseling an indispensable pillar of Youth development.  Siraat is aimed at providing free of cost counselling through volunteers from NUST. The main motto of initiating this project is to enlighten the minds of youth by showing them the right trail which would lead them to their destiny. This project will be executed by career counselling sessions which will help students to know and understand themselves and multiple facets of professional life in order to make career, educational, and life decisions.

The first event under this project was conducted in Islamabad School for Girls, G-5 sector on 1st November, 2014. In this session, the team prepared a presentation that amalgamated various interactive videos and activities that would guide them as to what field should they go for. The second career counseling session was conducted in Islamabad School for Girls, G-8/3 sector on 8th November, 2014 followed by Islamabad School for Boys, F-8/4 sector on 15th November, 2014. In both these schools, hands on experience from Nustians were shared with the students. They were guided on various fields that they could go for after they graduate from high school and how to choose the fields. Furthermore, the students were given a brief introduction about NUST as well.
