NUST in collaboration with Quacquarelli Symonds, a renowned UK-based international ranking agency, organised “QS University Ranking & Rating Seminar” at NUST Islamabad campus on April 01, 2019. Mr Ashwin Fernandes, Regional Director for QS Intelligence Unit in Middle East; and Dr Nadeem Khan, Dean of Institutional & Academic Accreditation at the Higher Colleges Technology, UAE: the resource persons of the seminar, explained how universities can improve their rankings and ratings over a period of time; which parameters universities should focus on to improve their rankings; and what role rankings play in enhancing the visibility and credibility of universities.
Lt Gen Naweed Zaman, HI (M), (Retd), Rector NUST, and VCs/Rectors of other Pakistani universities attended the day-long seminar. 45 delegates from 25 universities of Pakistan, including Quaid-e-Azam University, LUMS, COMSATS, GIKI, IIUI, UET Mardan, etc., were present; most of them were associated with the Quality Enhancement Cells (QECs) of their respective universities. The seminar afforded an opportunity to NUST as well as other varsities to learn how to further benefit from the ranking system through multiple ranking categories for achieving even better global visibility.
