NUST students, employees observe ‘Kashmir Hour’ by holding Solidarity Walk
With the rampant increase in the Human Rights violations and atrocities by the Indian armed forces against the innocent and unarmed people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK), the Government and people of Pakistan have been exposing the horrific face of the Indian so-called democracy to the world through diplomatic channels, media and widespread protests. Though staging of protests in every nook and corner of Pakistan has become the order of the day ever since the abrogation of Article 370 that acknowledges the special status of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) – in response to the Prime Minister’s call on Thursday to all Pakistanis to observe ‘Kashmir Hour’ on Friday at 12pm to send a strong message of solidarity to Kashmiris– held a walk from the premises of its main campus in Islamabad to the Kashmir Highway.
It was the second walk in the last 3 weeks that NUST held to express solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir. The participants included an overwhelming strength of students, faculty and staff, and their families. They were holding placards inscribed with slogans such as Let Kashmir Decide; Say No to India’s brutality in Kashmir; Stop Genocide in Kashmir; Kashmir and Pakistan are inseparable, etc.
The participants of the walk denounced the Indian unbridled cruelties against Kashmiris; and called upon the world in general and the United Nations in particular to resolve the longstanding issue according to the wishes of Kashmiri people and the United Nations resolution.
