Islamabad - As part of its initiative to arrange on-campus orientation/exposure visits for the school/college students, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) hosted around 50 students of different academic levels from Beaconhouse School System (Main Campus Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi) on Thursday, November 23, 2017. Upon arrival, they were given a detailed briefing on NUST programs of study, research and allied campus facilities, student-managed clubs & societies, etc. Later, Director Student Affairs and Principal NUST School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (SMME) responded to queries raised by the students regarding the admission criteria, accommodation facilities, etc.
The interesting thing about the visiting students was that all of them were members of Robotics Club at their school. Hence, they were conducted to the Robotics Lab at SMME, where Dr Yasir Ayaz, HoD Robotics, briefed them about how the robots at the lab operate and shared some valuable knowledge of the field of robotics. The visit drew to a close with a guided tour of the campus.
