 APU Test Rig:

A Test Rig for evaluating APU Alternator under varying environmental conditions for performance was designed and developed by DMRC, SMME. The Rig is in use with industry.

MANUFACTURING OF 10 KW AUXILIUARY POWER UNIT

Recently SMME has developed an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) through integration of a  Diesel Engine with an Alternator. The project has been completed successfully at prototype stage and is under evaluation.

Bio-Diesel Plant:

A Jatropha seed based Bio Diesel Plant has been designed and fabricated in DMRC, SMME. The plant has a commercial significance and has a daily output capacity of 600 liters.

Electric Bus:

Electric Commuter ( Bus ) with solar trickle charge has been designed to operate on hard surface with maximum gradient of 30% carrying 10 passengers. Currently the commuter is under use for student shuttling in NUST, Islamabad campus.

Hydro Volt Turbine:

Hydro Volt Turbine has been designed and developed in DMRC (SMME) as a prototype for DTCE, Islamabad. The Turbine project has been completed and handed over to DTCE, Islamabad. It is meant to work on a running canal without heavy civil infrastructure.

Investment Casting Machine:

Investment Casting Machine has been designed and developed in DMRC (SMME) for demonstration and manufacturing of small scale products. The system has a capacity of making a part with a volume of 100 x 50 x 50mm. Smaller parts as small as  20 grams in weight. Many parts can  be made in a single process. Local development of system has saved a lot of cost to the tune of several hundred thousands per system.

Fume Hoods:

Fume Hood has been manufactured with customized design in DMRC (SMME) for SNS (NUST). 2x Fume Hoods are completed and handed over to concerned School/Department.

Hand Held Engine Powered Plough: 

It is a portable plough machine which can be transported easily to high agricultural farms or orchards in the hilly areas. Presently hand ploughing or animals are used for this purpose. This scooter form of a tractor will certainly increase the efficiency of ploughing and yield in hilly areas. ​

Multi-Purpose Vehicle – I 

NUST and DICE Foundation is working together for development of Multi-Purpose Vehicle Prototype Versions (Passenger and Pickup Version). Other universities are also working as joint venture on the same project in different areas. The Project is under process in DMRC (SMME).

Auto Tooth Brush Wear Simulator 

Advance tooth brush wear simulator has been manufactured in DMRC (SMME). The project is completed and handed over to the user. It is being used for research work on tooth brush material.

Water Motor Pump: 

The Water Pump has been manufactured in DMRC (SMME). The project is completed as a product of SMME. All parts of the motor pump have been locally built. The salient features are power saving and less volume with high efficiency.

Auto Claves: 

DMRC (SMME) has built a number of high grade auto clave units for experimental purpose required by NUST labs at very reasonable cost. The import versions of same quality are very costly.

Air Sampler’s  Impactor Assembly: 

The project has been designed and manufactured in DMRC (SMME). This is a student project and has been completed and handed over to the student. It is also a high quality and precision manufacturing project. Its import versions are very costly.

Multi-Purpose Vehicle – I

Butterfly (BF-1) Utility Vehicle: 

A micro car with 200 c.c engine power is being developed in DMRC (SMME) under the flagship of NUST. Once developed, it will serve to extend a vehicle to middle and lower middle class of the population.

Mobile Lab: 

A portable Mobile lab has been designed and manufactured in DMRC (SMME). The purpose of the project is to place small educational projects and can be taken to required place for demonstration to the students. It also has a complete set of physics and chemistry experimental/practical lab equipment’s for those high schools which do not maintain such labs.
