BACKGROUND

Universities are essentially focusing on science and technologies at engineering level and are not mandated for skill development at the technicians level. NUST has established a strong links between the Academia and Industry by providing solutions to their problems. NUST has an extended approach towards Industry. With the same spirit NUST over the past three years has been offering Vocational Training Skill Development Courses for the open market HR to enable them acquire essential skills to take a start in Industrial setups or self-employ themselves.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The objective of this training is to inculcate considerable background knowledge of selected trades and to enhance practical skill with a view to make the individuals perform in setups or self-employ themselves to earn livelihood.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

NUST has taken the local initiative towards helping the unskilled or semi-skilled workers to become closer to professional level. The courses presently offered include Electrical, Welding and Machining categories. The students are expected to acquire skills as well as reasonable background of the technology of their choice.

VENUE

Manufacturing Resource Center (MRC), SMME, NUST Sector H-12, Islamabad.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

1.                  A period of 04 weeks the individual is exposed to a wholesome contents as a package especially skill enhancement.

Upon the successful completion of the course, students will be awarded NUST certificate.

3.                Courses Offered ( 30 students in each category )
          Electrical Technology                         Machining Practice                             Welding Techniques 

Participants:
                    Matric (Science), Intermediate / Bachelors (Electrical Students) can apply for Electrical
                        Technology /   Machining Practice.
                                    Middle passed can apply for Welding Techniques course.

Duration and Timing:                04 Weeks, Monday – Friday (0900-1600 Hrs)
