Sofia Javed obtained her PhD degree in Materials and Surface Engineering from NUST SCME in 2015 and joined MS Materials and Surface Engineering in 2008 on Mega S&T Scholarship of NUST and was able to receive President’s Gold Medal in formal convocation. In 2007, she graduated from University of Punjab with M.Sc. degree in Chemistry. She got 2 months research experience at Ludwig Maximillians University of Munich, Germany after MS on NIMS internship programme and 6 months research experience at City University of Hong Kong during PhD on HEC-IRSIP programme. Till date, she has more than 20 publications including one book chapter.​

  • All inorganic stable perovskite materials for solar cell application

  • 2D Nanomaterials for energy applications

  • Nanostructured TiO2 based devices for energy and environment.

  • Synthesis and electrical characterization of hierarchical nanostructures of titanium dioxide for DSSC/ photocatalysis.

  • ZnO/Au/ZnO nanorod arrays for dye sensitized solar cell applications.

  • Low emissivity coatings and films for energy efficiency​
