Dr. Muhammad Israr Qadir

Muhammad Israr Qadir received his PhD degree in Materials Science and Nanotechnology from Linköping University, Sweden, Masters in Physics from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and, Bachelor of Science from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. He has 5-year (2007-2012) research experience of working in Linköping Nanofabrication Centre “MYFABLIM LAB” [Cleanroom (Classes 1000 & 10000)]. He has extensive experience of the synthesis of various ZnO nanostructured materials, their characteristic investigations and further their use in the fabrication of nanoscale devices; Au/ZnO Schottky  LEDs, ZnO/GaN and ZnO/SiC heterostructure LEDs, Humidity sensors and potentiometric bio-chemical sensors etc.. He has the privilege to publish the research articles in the “Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Electroanalysis, Nanoscale Research Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Laser Physics Letters and Nanophotonics, etc. and also working as Honorary Reviewer for several prestigious scientific research journals: Applied Physics Letters, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Nanoscale and Materials Letters. His current research work involves the projects like solution based synthetic techniques to grow nanostructure as well as fabrication of hybrid photonic and bio-medical nanodevices. Till today, Dr. Israr has published 30 research papers in peer reviewed international journals and conference proceedings.

Additionally, I have been a member of organizing committee of an international conference “ASEAN-Pakistan Conference of Materials Science” (APCOMS-3) during November 25-27, 2014 at NUST, Islamabad, Pakistan, and member of organizing committee of national conference “Conference on Emerging Materials and Processes (CEMP-2)” to be held on December 22-23, 2015 at NUST, Islamabad.

​My research interests comprise of aqueous chemical solution based synthesis of diverse nanostructures of zinc oxide (nanoparticles, nanorods, nanotubes, nanoflowers and nanowalls networks) and various characteristic investigations including, electrical, optical, dielectric as well as photochemical properties of these nanostructures. Additionally, I have been utilizing different nanostructured materials like, titanium oxide, cadmium & barium titanate, graphene and silicon for various characteristic measurements as well as I have been part of fabrication of numerous nanoscale devices; Schottky LEDs, ZnO/GaN heterostructure LEDs, humidity and potentiometric biosensors.
Currently, my research students are utilizing aqueous chemical, co-precipitation and electrochemical growth methods for the fabrication of zero- and one-dimensional semiconducting nanomaterials in order to investigate their optoelectronic, dielectric, photocatalytic and biosensing properties.
