Head of Department Message

I welcome you to NUST University's Construction Engineering & Management Web Page.

Our aim is to inform the prospective students and industry partners about Construction Engineerng & Management (CEM) undergraduate and graduate programs at NUST. The CEM Program is designed to train professionals for leadership in the construction industry, including engineering and construction methodologies, project management, and corporate management. Contemporary construction practices demand that the construction professionals not only master construction concepts but also gain a comprehensive know how in engineering and management methods.

Throughout the course, emphasis will remain on new technologies, developments, and techniques in both domestic and international construction. Students are encouraged to take related courses offered in the National Institute of Transportation (NIT) or in other Engineering Departments as well as in the School of Management Sciences.

Graduates of the CEM Program are expected to find a wide range of employment opportunities in construction, consulting and design firms as well as in the public sector. Throughout the Program, the interrelationship of planning, design and construction shall be continuously stressed. Interaction with the construction industry is enhanced by the ideal location of the NUST campus at Islamabad, which is the hub of major local, national, and international construction activity. Extensive use of the local and international projects is made in classroom examples and project assignments. Industry practitioners are invited as guest speakers to give lectures describing industry challenges and solutions.
