​NUST Institute of Civil Engineering (NICE), in collaboration with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), is organizing an International Seminar followed by an International Workshop on broader theme of “Design of Tall Buildings: Trends and advances for Structural Performance” during 24 – 25 April 2017 at the NICE(NUST Institute of Civil Engineering), (NUST), H-12 Sector, Islamabad, Pakistan.

The objective of the seminar and the workshop is to enhance and strengthen the capacities of practicing engineers as well as organizations dealing with the design of tall buildings in Pakistan in understanding the latest trends and developments in performance-based design and analysis. It also provide an introduction to resilience-based design which is a developing field of new research. The key objectives of the short course are:

  • To introduce the participants to the concepts and framework Tall Buildings analysis and design.
  • To familiarize and demonstrate the techniques used in design and analysis of innovative structural systems.
  • To introduce the participants to the basics concepts of structural health monitoring and highlight its prospective application in CPEC    projects in Pakistan.
  • To give a hands-on experience of using the modern Softwares for dynamic analysis and design of Tall Buildings.
