IGIS Student Wins Silver Award In P@SHA ICT Annual Awards 2019

Student of Institute of Geographical Information Systems (IGIS) has won silver award in Tertiary Student category of P@sha ICT Annual Awards 2019, held at Lahore on September 21, 2019.

The P@SHA Awards are the premier event of the IT industry and bring together business leaders from various sectors as well as diplomats and media. The Chief Guest for the awards ceremony was the Honorable Asad Umar, who is Former Federal Minister of Finance.Alif Programming Language is a project of NUST IGIS student, Umair Mukhtar. It is a computer language developed to help teach programming to children who don't understand English, and allows the users to code in Urdu.This year, more than 350 applicants from across Pakistan, ranging from largest IT companies to promising new start-ups and students, submitted their projects in the competition. Alif Programing Language aims to provide programming education to millions of unprivileged kids of Pakistan & enlighten them with the knowledge of Computer Science & Logic Making.
