Dr Sofia Baig joined NUST in February, 2016. She completed her PhD from Macquarie University Australia in Biological Sciences, specifically in Plant Eco-physiology. She won the International Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (iMQRES) in 2010. 

Research 

Dr Sofia has worked on Photosynthesis/Stomatal Conductance and Vegetation models to assess the effect of CO2 and various environmental parameters on plants. Her research focuses on how vegetation on earth, specially forests are effected with climate change. She is using field/glasshouse experiments and different Vegetation/Species distribution models and DGVMs to assess the effects.
