Salman Afzal graduated from National College of Arts Lahore with distinction in Textile Design. After winning the prestigious COFA International Award he completed his postgraduate degree (M. Design) at the College of Fine Arts at UNSW Australia. Being a person of varied interests- ranging from learning languages to the search of identity in design, he started publishing blog posts with active commentary on contemporary issues in design academics and industry. His research interests revolve around ethical dilemmas that in most ways define the relationship between the third world countries and design centers.
Salman is an HEC- FPDP alumnus who has been associated with National College of Arts (Lahore) where he served as a lecturer and studio tutor. He is part of the founding faculty team that established ‘Design and Textiles’ – an A level Cambridge International course, in Pakistan. He has also been a member on Faculty Standing committee and at COFA University of New South Wales.
