Workshop on ‘Understanding Chinese Cultural Values’ held on Wednesday, 07 September, 2016. School of Social Sciences and Humanities (S3H), NUST,

    The Chinese Studies Centre at NUST, Islamabad organized the first of the series of ‘Workshops’ on China related themes, to generate greater knowledge and understanding between the two countries. Dr. Ashfaque Hasan Khan Principal/Dean of the School of Social Sciences welcoming the Participants informed the Participants about the launching of the Module on ‘China’s Development Experience’ for the students of Economic and Public Policy with current education session beginning September. Ambassador (Retired) Syed Hasan Javed Director of the CSC stated that it is important to have a basic understanding of Chinese social and cultural values in order to harness the best results from friendship and collaboration with China and the overseas Chinese communities. This Workshop will help build a ‘Synergy’ i.e create Values by sharing values, building relationships for co-creating Future. The Chief Guest Mr. Liu Jianqin Assistant Vice President China Pakistan Investment Company, Islamabad spoke on the progress being achieved by Chinese companies making investment in CPEC related projects. He also shared some pleasant observations from his experience on the work ethics and culture in both countries. Representatives of Federal Ministries, think tanks and Universities attended the event.
