History

NUST Institute of Management Sciences (NIMS) was established in 1999 to meet the increasing demand for skilled corporate managers and entrepreneurs. The School was renamed as NUST Business School (NBS) in 2008 with the renewed objective of providing high-quality education in management sciences. In less than a decade, it has made its mark as one of the premier business schools in Pakistan and a training ground par excellence for future corporate managers and leaders. Three social sciences departments namely Department of Economics, Department of Government and Public Policy, and Department of Mass Communication were launched and initially housed under the umbrella of NUST Business School offering graduate and postgraduate programs in Business Administration, Economics, Mass Communication and Government & Public Policy.

In line with the vision of NUST, the School of Social Sciences and Humanities has now been established. The School covers the following disciplines:
