Mr Matloob has strong quantitative skills, with ability to help students relate theoretical knowledge with the practical realities of for profit as well as non-profit organisations. Besides academics, he has diverse experience of applying his skills in management consulting, logistics, government sector and launching start-ups.

At NBS, Mr Matloob is housed in the subject are cluster of Operations and Quantitative Management under department of Management and HRM. He currently heads the EMBA programme and the Programme Team for Quality Assurance. He has also worked extensively on strengthening entrepreneurial culture among NUST students, being instrumental in launching multiple student start-ups like Lithomatic (winner of FICS 2015 and 4th position holder in PolyU Global Challenge held in Hong Kong) and DreamCatcher.

    Mr Matloob has over 11 years of experience in finance, management consulting and teaching.

    He started his career by working in consulting division of RSM International, with his early exposure to projects and programmes like institutional strengthening of National Reconstruction Bureau, fiscal power devolution under Decentralisation Support Programme and institutional strengthening of Provincial Finance Commissions. Some of his later projects in different capacities include:

  • Institutional Strengthening of District Accounts (and Audit) Committees of NWFP (aka KPK province)
  • Training of Nazims (Mayors) and municipal administration of Sindh in Capital Budgeting
  • Business Process Reengineering of National Highways Authority
  •  

    His later work included working as Credit Controller in one of the largest dairy companies of the UK – Watsons (a subsidiary of Medina conglomerate), and Director of Optima Business Consulting and Training Ltd., UK. Some of his projects at Optima include:

  • ​Traffic Flow Optimisation at Fletchemstead Highway (A45) in West Midlands, UK
  • Ranking mechanism for bids evaluation for local governments using MCDA
  • Measuring impact of lesson sequence and meals planning on student performance at K-12 school system
