Research interests encompass both applied and basic research projects regarding plant systematic and medical Microbiology. The designing of the projects is based on the ultimate goal of understanding plant ethnobotany against microbial strains and phylogenetics of the plants. This group is also interested in plant natural products which represents a vital field of study. The biggest bottleneck in using this strategy is to develop plants that accumulate significantly higher levels of important natural products by engineering the target metabolic pathways. In this regard, identification and characterization of the potential genes and their regulators will be the main focus of the study.
