Molecular Virology (HCV); Signaling Pathways Involved in HCV induced Liver pathogenesis; Pathopysiology of P2X Receptors and HCV; Stem Cells Biology
Encompass both basic and applied problems in molecular virology with particular emphasis of my research in the viral hepatitis. During my M.Phil, PhD studies and post-doctoral fellowship ,I used cellular and molecular tools to understand the use of stem cells in regeneration of cardiac tissue in murine infracted model, HCV induced signaling pathways involved in liver pathogenesis.

Currently our research group is working on  Molecular virology of HCV, different perturbed signaling pathways ( HCV induced Insulin Resistance, HCV and apoptosis, HCV and liver fibrosis, HCV and interferon Resistance) involved in HCV liver pathogenesis, Host and Viral factors involved in therapeutic efficacy of HCV, Pathophysiology of P2X receptors and HCV.

We are contributing to the international research on HCV  as the better understanding and identification of molecular perturbations involved in HCV induced liver pathogenesis will help to advance the treatment modality by providing background for genetic or pharmacological modification of such targeted molecules.
