Awarded the Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship
Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Asst Prof/HoD Plant Biotechnology, Atta-ur-Rahman School of Applied Biosciences (ASAB), has been awarded “The Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship” for the year 2014. This opportunity will allow him to work one-on-one with Prof. Judith K. Brown, University of Arizona, USA in the field of Cotton leaf curl disease and to apply knowledge gained toward the continued development of the agricultural sector in Pakistan. The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service in cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide funding for his participation in the Program. This includes travel to and from the United States, tuition/training costs, emergency medical insurance, and food and housing expenses during the program for a period of 12 weeks.
