This course will be facilitated by Anna Childs, B.Eng (Hons), FRSA.
Anna began her career as a lecturer in mechanical engineering at the University of Plymouth, UK, and a distance tutor for international students of the UK Engineering Council exams. In 1999 she tutored on the Open University UK’s first course to use online learning. She has subsequently worked almost exclusively in leadership, project design, implementation and impact evaluation of projects that use open and distance learning (ODL) to support access to high quality, affordable and sustainable higher and professional education.
Anna has an extensive record of research and thought leadership on what it takes to deliver equitable and effective tertiary education. She has edited 3 books on the innovative use of technology to support ODL, contributed chapters to 12 others and been an expert and invited speaker at over 40 conferences globally.
Anna is currently an independent consultant in the field of ODL for development, having left her last role as Academic Director for International Development at The Open University UK in March this year.
