Mr. Selvadurai Sathananthan graduated with bachelor’s degree from University of Ceylon (SriLanka) in 1974.He then served the government of Ceylon (Srilanka) for six years as water supply Sewerage and structural design engineer working under the ministry of housing & construction. He then pursued a Master’s degree course in Environmental Engineering at University of Newcastle – Upon Tyne in United Kingdom. On completion of the postgraduate course he joined Camp Dresser & McKee International Inc, Singapore office as an environmental engineer. His experience includes water resources development planning, water & wastewater treatment plant design, water reclamation and reuse and membrane applications in water and wastewater treatment technology. Having gained valuable experience in the water industry he joined Ngee Ann polytechnic Singapore as a lecturer in water technology. He conducts regular training program for full time students in the polytechnic and to the technical staff employed by PUB – The National water agency of Singapore. His training and teaching experience in Singapore spans over 25 years. He is a chartered Engineer and a member of the institution of civil engineers UK and Australia. He is also a senior member of the institution of engineers Singapore. He is a council member of the Environmental Engineering Society of Singapore and served in the organizing committee for many international water conferences held in Singapore.
is Associate Professor and Head of Department in Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad. He has MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Portland State University, USA and PhD in Environmental Engineering and Management from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. His research interests are biological processes and membrane technologies for water and wastewater treatment. He has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed international journals with impact factor. He has supervised many research and consulting projects for national and international agencies.
