NUST Global Think Tank Network (GTTN) and the Royal Danish Defence College (RDDC) joined hands to organize the International Seminar, titled, “Peace, Growth, and Empowerment: Promoting Regional Connectivity” from November 30, 2016, till December 01, 2016, at NUST, Islamabad.

The Seminar witnessed the participation of distinguished statesmen, senior civil and military officials, corporate leaders, public intellectuals, think tank thought leaders, media experts, scholars, and researchers from Pakistan and Denmark. Selected eminent experts from other countries in the region also attended. The seminar comprised of 2 Grand Sessions, 2 Plenary Sessions, and 5 Roundtables. Speakers, discussants, and participants focused on different aspects of the main theme in interactive and intensive discussions aimed at enhancing the chances of peace, equitable growth, and combined development in the region through intensifying and consolidating multifaceted ways and means of promoting regional connectivity and integration. Multidimensional approaches, case studies, histories, and policy making practices to peacebuilding and collaboration for regional stability was propounded, considered, and deliberated upon during the course of the Seminar. This, of necessity, reflected upon the role of various players like states, governments, regional and international organizations, peoples and publics in the region, and non-governmental organizations in formulating and realizing inclusive and forward-looking regional and international regimes for peace, growth, and connectivity in a consensus-based manner.
