About Department

VISION OF ENGINEERING SCIENCES DEPARTMENT

The department of engineering sciences has its prime objective of producing highly skilled mechanical engineers with specialization in three areas namely, Thermal Fluids, Thermal Powers and Computational Statistics. The department is equipped with modern laboratories, research facilities and state of art computer centers. Focused emphasis on practical exposure is also given to mechanical engineers along with theoretical instructional, with the help of qualified faculty and several well equipped laboratories.

The Faculty of Engineering Sciences is headed by Dean Engineering sciences (Dean ES).  He is assisted by three Course Coordinators to look after academics aspects of undergraduate program, post graduate program and Marine Engineering Systems Management Course (MESMC), a specialization for mechanical branch service officers. Moreover, three Group Officers look after various support facilities i.e. Laboratories, CADAM facility and workshops. The department has excellent commitments for teaching and producing graduate Engineers; it has over the years acquired national/international recognition. At present this Engineering Sciences department, besides various professional courses, offers undergraduate programs after every six months as well as postgraduate programs at Master's and PhD level only once in a year.

BE Mechanical Program is accredited up to Intake Batch-2010 as per decision of PEC 65th held on 24-7-13, PEC/EA&QEC/PNEC-K/CL-65/2013.

MISSION OF ENGINEERING SCIENCES DEPARTMENT
The ES department is committed to serve within the standards set by HEC, PEC, NUST and NHQs:
a.    By providing graduate and undergraduate level mechanical engineering education that prepares students for contemporary industry, academics, research and development works, public and military services.
b.    By providing opportunity for faculty and students to participate and contribute to developments in field of engineering in general and mechanical engineering in particular.
c.    By conducting specialized courses for development of professional engineers.
