GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER SEMESTER 2014 – UG COURSES

GENERAL

1. Summer Semester-2014 for UG classes will be held from 23 June to 15 August 2014 (08 Wks). The semester will be considered at par with normal semester and will be conducted i.a.w. NUST Regulations and NUST latest policies in vogue.

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

2. All UG students (Civilians and PN Student Officers) are allowed to avail the semester for improvement of grades except PN student officers of GL (ME/WE) 2009-A & B and BS (MIS) 2011-A & B classes. Officers of said classes will join PN Fleet for Pre-MESMC / WESMC sea training of 08 x weeks. Whereas, officers of             BS (MIS) 2010-B Sem-VI will proceed to join PNS BAHADUR for Professional Course / Distance Learning Phase.

COURSE LOAD

3. As per NUST policy, UG student’s can take course load up to 06 Cr Hrs during Summer Semester.  The said course load is not applicable to the students, who proceed to foreign universities under students exchange programme and are required to complete the deficient courses. Furthermore, student officers may repeat only 05 courses in complete BE degree programme.

COURSES OFFERED

4. HOUGPs in consultation with Deans will issue the list of subjects to be offered during summer semester, keeping in view the availability of the instructors and the necessary resources available. Moreover, instructor can take teaching load up to 06 Cr Hrs in case of theory and 03 Cr Hrs in case of practicals. The overall teaching load  (Theory + Practicals) should not increase more than 06 Cr Hrs in total.
