Question: Can I drop a course in regular semester?
Yes, you may. Usually one course (out of a total of 6) can be dropped in regular semester. That course can be taken up during the compressed summer semester. However, registration in summer semester is subject to minimum enrollment and other academic regulations.
Question: Can I drop a prerequisite of a course and continue with its subsequent course?
No, A prerequisite course must be studied and passed in order to qualify and enroll in the subsequent level of/related to that course.
Question: What are OHTs?
OHTs or One Hour Tests are sessional exams held in weeks 6 and 12 of every semester and constitute up to 30 percent of the total course assessment.
Question: Is there another facility other than the MCS library where I can access more reference books, journals and other reading material?
Yes, besides the College Library, you can access the MCS digital library by clicking at the link ‘Library’ on MCS website. In addition, students can also access the online library on NUST portal.
Question: Is there any research work/project done at undergraduate level related to Humanities & Basic Sciences at MCS?
As such there are no specific academic research projects prescribed for students pertaining to humanities and basic sciences since there is no separate specialized degree offered by this Department. However students can seek guidance from faculty members of Humanities and Basic Sciences Department in case their thesis/research project deals with the Faculties’ area of expertise
