Dr Mir Yasir received his undergraduate from COMSATS Islamabad in 2007. He did his MS in Wireless Networks from University of London in 2009, UK and received PhD Information and Communication from Beihang University, Beijing China in 2015. He joined NUST as a Lecturer in 2010 and was promoted as Assistant Professor in 2015 after his doctorate. Based on his excellent performance, he was awarded Best Teacher Award at MCS in 2016. He received NUST scholarship under faculty development program for his doctoral studies from China, in 2011. His doctoral research was focused on Indoor Positioning System for Wi-Fi Users. After the completion of his doctoral studies, he re-joined MCS NUST in Feb 2015.  He is also the branch councilor of MCS IEEE student Branch.

Dr. Yasir has won two funded projects from IGNITE –FYP Grassroots Level (Previously known as ICT R&D Fund). He is currently working on a project funded by Pakistan Army.

  • Dr. Yasir has worked as a Research Associate in Huawei Center for Excellence R&D department Beijing, China for two years. He was part of their delegate teams to look after RAN- RRM related issues in HetNets in the 3GPP meetings across the world. ​
