Vision Statement

The department of Electrical Engineering at MCS is a bed rock of Telecomm Engineering and Electronics at NUST. The faculty and administration is poised to turn the department into a centre of excellence while incorporating the specializations of mobile, satellite and optical communication technologies. The department commits itself and all its resources to achieve the glory that is the aim of NUST and keep the flag of MCS up amongst the engineering institutions of stature and grandeur. It is envisioned to accelerate development with additional resources generated through short courses, workshops and seminars.

 Objectives

The EE program at MCS is based on six Program Education Objectives (PEOs) that are elaborated below and published in the program catalogue and students’ handbook. The PEOs are listed below:

PEO-1:

To prepare its students for either graduate study, entrepreneurial careers, or research and development work by imparting in depth knowledge in areas of Mathematics, Basic Sciences, Computer Skills, and Basic Electrical Engineering leading to understanding specialized systems.

PEO-2:

The program strives to maintain a balance between classroom lectures and laboratory and design experience and it emphasizes the problem formulation, system design and solving skills that are essential to any engineering discipline.

PEO-3:

The program strives to develop in each student self reliance, creativity, teamwork ability, professional ethics, communication skills and an appreciation of importance of contemporary issues and lifelong intellectual growth.

PEO-4:

The program inculcates in the students perseverance, tenacity and cogency by affording them opportunities of competitiveness, shouldering responsibilities of organizing events and relative grading systems of examinations.

PEO-5:

The students find opportunity in doing guided research work under well learned faculty. The grooming of students is done through course advisors/counsellors.

PEO-6:

The program strives to meet the needs of industries by incorporating perceptual changes in either the courses or course outlines and assigning course and final year projects to the students.
