American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials High Value Research Award
Dr. Anwaar Ahmed was awarded AASHTO High Value Research Project Award in 2014 for his research project “Costs and Revenues Associated with Overweight Trucks in Indiana”. The project was also declared as best research project in AASHTO Region -3 by the AASHTO task force on value of research. The project was jointly funded by Indiana Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration of USA. Project estimated and analyzed highway pavement and bridge damage costs and the adequacy of permit revenues to cover these costs. The Research Advisory Committee for the AASHTO Standing Committee on Research awarded its 2014 High Value Research Projects at its annual summer meeting held in July in Madison, Wisconsin. The project was highlighted in the special TRB publication “Research Makes the Difference”, which is distributed to a wide range of audiences including all US State DOTs and the US Congress. This project was also recognized and highlighted during the annual TRB meeting-2015 Session “Innovations worth Deploying Now: High Value Research Results"
