 China Agricultural Robotics Competition 2019

PAGRI Team from NUST CEME, Department of Mechatronics Engineering represented Pakistan in China Agriculture Robotics Competition 2019 after winning the national competition. It was supported by UNESCAP-CSAM and organized by China Agriculture University Beijing in collaboration with other institutions and associations in the agricultural field. In total 50 teams qualified for the final round from 18 different Universities held at Qingdao China. PAKGRI stood second among international teams qualified for the final round. The organizers appreciated the robot design prepared by PAGRI, encouraged the participation of female team member and invited to participate next year at ARC 2019.
The visit opened new avenues for the department of mechatronics engineering. During the visit the PAGRI visited Hongzhu Nongji agricultural machinery company Qingdao. The company General manager encouraged for a healthy cooperation with NUST and agreed to provided partially funded internship at his company. The team was invited to visit China Agriculture University (CAU) Beijing. Dr. Waqar Shahid Qureshi introduced NUST and Robot Design and Development Lab NCRA to the members of Agriculture Robotics Lab CAU. Members of both teams agreed to jointly submit research proposals, exchange of graduate students, and faculty exchange for short durations. The CAU team requested to encourage students from NUST to apply at CAU for graduates, PhD, and post-doctoral studies.
