Imaging Lab is also one of the newest editions to Avionics Engineering
Department. It has state-of-the-art thermal imaging systems available to familiarize
students with the concepts related to infrared imaging and processing of
imaging data. The lab also has computing facilities available for processing of
digital images on both embedded and desktop stations that include FPGAs, image
acquisitions cards and high-end workstations. Recently, Graphics Processing
Unit (GPU) based workstations have also been added to the lab for massively
parallel real-time computing of image and video data in desktop applications.
The lab facilities are primarily utilized for research in the related fields by
both students and faculty.
