Dr Syed Irtiza Ali Shah is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology USA.  He did is BE from NED University followed by MS in Aerospace Engineering from NUST in fluid dynamics.  He then proceeded abroad to GeorgiaTech, from where he completed his MS in Flight Mechanics and Controls, MS in Machine Vision and Robot Controls and PhD in Aerial Robotics.   Since then he has been teaching at National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan.

He has authored more than 30 research papers and had supervised 15PhD and MS students and a number of BE students from AerospaceEngg, Mechanical Engg, Manufacturing Engg, Robotics, Intelligent Machine Engineering and Biomedical engineering disciplines.

Dr Irtiza also had been head of NUST community service program from 2011 to 2015.  He designed a course on Community Service Learning for BE and MS students of NUST, which has now been made compulsory part of NUST curriculum.   During his tenure he raised the NUST Community Service Club from 200 volunteers to 4500 volunteers and taught, trained and supervised over 5000 students in Community Service.​​​​

As Manager (in-charge) Aircraft Production,  planned, supervised & managed aircraft Programmed Depot Maintenance (supervising 140 technicians).  Job descriptionincluded:

·         Overhauling of all airframe systems i.e. Landing Gears, Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Air Conditioning, Airplane General, Fuel Systems and other auxiliary systems.

·         All Production & Maintenance activities of 1.5Ton per day Liquid Oxygen Plant including : Production of Liquid Oxygen as ABO (aviators breathing oxygen), Liquid Nitrogen as Coolant (in various missile systems), Gaseous Oxygen, Nitrogen and Breathing Air for medical purposes.

·         Operation, Maintenance and Overhauling of the production plant.

 

Corrosion Control: July 1995 – Dec 1996

Manager (In-Charge) Corrosion Control,  planned, supervised & managed (supervising34 technicians):

·         Periodic & Unscheduled Corrosion Inspections.

·         Corrosion Removal using Chemical & Mechanical methods including sand blasting, shot blasting etc.

·         Corrosion Protection using Organic Coatings including Polyurethane Floro-elastomeric & Rain Erosion Resistant Systems.

·         Aircraft Scheduled Corrosion Prevention including washing, rinsing & preservations

 

Technical Management: May 94 – June 95

As Deputy Manager (2nd In-charge) Aerospace Ground Equipment Section,  planned, supervised & managed (supervising130 technicians):

·         Operation, Maintenance and Overhauling of Aircraft Arresting Barriers of both Net Arrestment and Cable Arrestment types.

·         Operation & Maintenance of Aerospace Ground Equipment including LP & HP Compressors, Air Conditioning Units, Air Carts, Ground Power Units, Hydraulic Test Stands etc.

·         Maintenance & Refurbishment of Aircraft Ground Support Equipment including Utility cranes, Maintenance platforms, Crash Recovery Equipment etc​
