First Hands-on Workshop on Biomolecular Simulation

Research Center for Modeling and Simulation (RCMS) Academic-I Building, NUST Campus, H-12, Islamabad, Pakistan

Research Centre for Modeling and Simulation is organizing four days hands-on workshop on "Bio-Molecular Simulations” at Super Computing Research and Education Center (ScREC), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) from May 04 to May 07, 2015. The participants will learn and implement key concepts in Bio-molecular Simulations.
Special emphasis will be given to the hands-on training of computational program packages to perform the following;
1-    Energy minimization on the Potential Energy Surface (PES)
2-    Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations
3-    Normal Mode Analysis (NMA)
4-    Conformational Transitions in Proteins
After completing the workshop, the participants would be able to
  • Understand the key theoretical concepts underlying computational methods
  • Run and execute bio-molecular simulations using Molecular Mechanics program package
  • Remotely use RCMS Super Computing facility
  • Perform energy minimization, MD simulations and NMA
  • Search for minimum energy pathways on the high dimensional PES
  • Instructor Profile:
