RCMS is fully equipped with state of the art facilities, both hardware and software. These facilities are a hub of multidisciplinary research. 

Numerical Analysis Lab (NAL)

This lab is used for Finite Element Analysis, Fluid Flow Simulation, and basic Aerodynamics Design Analysis. It provides students a facility where they can get to know about a variety of modeling & simulation software.

Advanced Numerical Analysis Lab (ANAL)

Advanced NAL houses specifically configured Solaris based platforms for problems that require more computational power. This facility is used for 3-D Modeling and advanced Flow Simulation.
NAL and Advance NAL are equipped with state of the art hardware and software.

Supercomputing Research and Education Facility (ScREC)

The Field of computing is undergoing a revolutionary transformation due to the emergence of massively parallel computing platforms such as

  • Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)
  • Multi-core CPUs.
The requirement of supercomputer for solving high complexity problems in the field of Aerospace, Automobile, Defense, Bio Informatics and Information warfare has always existed. NUST has established Supercomputing Research & Education Facility at RCMS.  This supercomputing facility provides a unique opportunity to public and private industry and organizations for resolving high end computing problems. Many constituent institutions at NUST conducting MS and PhD programs in advanced parallel & distributed computing, and other national universities are using this facility for conducting meaningful research. Through a series of short courses and workshops, this facility is also helping develop the human resource for highly specialized & essential computing applications.

Super Computer Details:

The Super Computer consists of 66 nodes with more than thirty thousand core. Each of the 32 Dual Quad core machine is connected with N-Vidia Tesla s1070 GPU. The Inter connect is QDR infiniband and 26 TB SAN storage is attached with the system. The aggregated memory is 1.3 TB. The Supercomputing Centre is connected with the campus Network. It is remotely accessibly within and outside the campus. The users can submit, monitor, and control their computationally intensive jobs remotely. Currently, the facility is being used is the areas of computational Biology, Computational Fluid Dynamic, Geo Sciences, Statistical Analysis, Mathematical Modeling, Virtualization and Medical Imaging.


Network Simulation and Communication Lab (NSCL)

This lab is used to help students in learning modern trends in modeling and simulations of Communication Systems and Computer Networks. This facility is a multipurpose lab and is used to demonstrate Network Modeling & Simulation, Design, Configuration & Troubleshooting of LAN & WAN and implementing Network Security as well as to carry out research projects related to Networking.
