Dr. Muhammad Hassan did MS and PhD in Bio-Environmental & Energy Engineering from Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, China. Besides that, Dr. Muhammad Hassan has taught several practical courses like Mechanics of Material, Structural Design and Engineering Mechanics at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Dr. Muhammad Hassan has authored and co-authored more than 27 Publications. Dr. Muhammad Hassan has also co-supervised 2 MS student at Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, China. He also has attended many International conferences helding in China and Denmark and presented His scientific findings. He also served as a reviewer for various scientific publications. 

Dr. Muhammad Hassan has research interest in the following areas;

1) Pretreatment technologies for lingocellulosic biomass’s to enhance their anaerobic digestibility
2) Biogas production from agricultural and municipal waste
3) Pilot and industrial scale design of the biogas plants
4) Pyrolysis of lingocellulosic biomass’s for gasification purpose
5) Reactor design, operation and optimization for the Batch, CSTRs, UASB, FBRs, 
6) C/N, HRT and OLR optimization of the anaerobic reactors, kinetic modeling and synchronism minimization perspectives 
7) To control the ammonia inhibition effects of the anaerobic digestion of the poultry manures
8) Energy recycling from solid waste and waste water
9) Waste water treatment and management

Worked as Trainee Engineer with water and sanitation agency (WASA) Faisalabad, Tobishima Corporation, Japan Techno Company Limited and Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) on a Project titled ‘’The improvement of water supply system in Faisalabad by constructing 5000 m3 reservoir to supply fresh water to Faisalabad city’’.

Worked on an Australian Funded project to determine the crop water requirement for rice by remote sensing and GIS applications.
