Title: "STUDENTS AND VOLUNTARY SOCIAL ACTIVISM"
This is not a seminar in the strict sense. It is more of a chat with students and faculty. The objective is to help us appreciate the virtues of social action, becoming thereby useful members of the society and better human beings.
Students in general, and university students in particular, are a formidable force when it comes to engaging in social action. There are several examples where governments mobilized students to successfully achieve national development objectives. But in the absence of any government initiative, students as socially conscious citizens can voluntarily engage themselves in social action, both individually and collectively.
In this discussion, we shall try and understand what social action is, how one can craft an action for oneself and plan and engage in it, and get inspired by shining examples from the world around us.
