NUSTians Fatima and Ifrah win Gold at National Skiing Championship
NUSTians Fatima Sohail and Ifrah Wali, from School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H) and NUST Business School (NBS), respectively, represented the Higher Education Commission (HEC) team at the Saadia Khan National Ski Championship, organized by Ski Federation of Pakistan at Naltar, Gilgit-Baltistan, from January 20 to February 4, 2016.​A total of 56 players were chosen to represent 9 teams across the country.

Fatima Sohail secured 1 gold and 1 silver medal in the Slalom and Giant Slalom each, whereas Ifrah Wali bagged 1 gold and 1 bronze medal in Giant Slalom and Slalom events, respectively.

A spectacular performance by both athletes enabled Team HEC to win the National Women Ski Championship for the third time consecutively.

By virtue of the above mentioned performances, Fatima and Ifrah have been selected for Ski Training Camp for the Winter Olympics 2018.
