Admission on the Basis of NUST Entrance Test (NET)

General

  • NUST conducts NET at three locations, ie NUST Campus Islamabad, Karachi and Quetta.
  • Whereas at Islamabad Campus NET is conducted in computer-based format, in Karachi and Quetta the test is in paper-based format.
  • Candidates can appear in entrance test more than once to improve their score, and apply for admission separately on the basis of best score when applications are invited.
  • The standard of test is that of intermediate level education aimed at evaluation of factual knowledge, comprehension and application.
  • The pattern and the standard of question papers for both types of tests is the same.
  • Computer-based test is designed according to the on-line examinations practiced throughout the world. It is easy to attempt with minimal practice. Instructions to attempt computer-based entrance test along with mock test module will be available at NUST website for guidance.
  • At Islamabad Campus, computer based entrance tests will be held in multiple sessions according to the following schedule:
  • First Session (NET 1)       -    April - May
  • Second Session (NET 2) -    June - July
  • In Karachi and Quetta, paper based entrance test will be conducted only once in July.
  • Entrance Test result for computer based test will be available on NUST web portal within 24 hours and for paper based test  within 7 days.

    Note:
  • Candidates seeking admission in Engineering can also opt for admission in BS Mathematics programme without additional registration fee. Such candidates are not required to take a separate test and their merit position for BS Mathematics will be calculated on the basis of their score in Mathematics, English and Intelligence.
  • Computer Science

    Note:
  • Candidates seeking admission in Computer Science can also opt for admission in BS Mathematics programme without additional registration fee.
